Appointment of Full Time United States Magistrate Judge - Tallahassee Division

After eight years of distinguished service, Magistrate Judge Charles A. Stampelos has announced his intention to retire from judicial service on April 2, 2020.  Judge Stampelos is a distinguished public servant who has served our court and the citizens of the Northern District of Florida with distinction and, upon his retirement, will be missed. 
As a result of Judge Stampelos’ impending retirement, the Judicial Conference of the United States has authorized the appointment of a full time United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Florida in Tallahassee, Florida. The essential function of the United States District Court is to dispense justice and United States Magistrate Judges provide an important component of this function.
 
Applications and additional information about the United States Magistrate Judge position may be obtained from the Office of the Clerk of Court at all four divisional offices of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida and on the Court’s Internet website at www.flnd.uscourts.gov. Applications must be received in accordance with the instructions provided by August 1, 2019.
