This is notice of an opportunity to provide pro bono service in a First Amendment case either individually or by overseeing work of a law student or other qualified individual, including, for example, a retired attorney.
The case is Weaver Sol Hastings v. Walt McNeil, in his official capacity as Sheriff of Leon County, Florida, No. 4:24cv67-RH-MJF. A non-jury trial is set for September 21, 2026, but could be rescheduled to accommodate an attorney who enters the case in response to this notice. The trial will probably last one day.
